Lingard
It seems more and more likely that this is going to happen. Jesse's keen to come and the clubs are haggling over the loan fee, reportedly. There's also a claim that if we get him we'll no longer pursue a new striker.

This baffles me. Who does he replace in our 1st XI? And more importantly, who plays up front if Antonio twangs his hamstring again?

Is Mipo some kind of wunderkind that we'll unleash if he does?

I'm not getting the logic to this one.

Re: Lingard
From today's Guardian....

Gareth Southgate is likely to solve England’s attacking crisis by handing the Leeds striker Patrick Bamford his first call-up and recalling West Ham’s Jesse Lingard.

Re: Lingard
I don’t think that Moyes does big time Charlies and he knows something of Lingard so if it’s alright with him it’s alright by me.

Re: Lingard
Don't get me wrong, I think he would be a good signing if he stays motivated but we have seen a bit of his good and bad sides.
I didn't like the taking of the penalty, didn't like how lazy he is in some games when we don't have the ball but I do like the quality he brings and the way he drives at players with the ball and he has decent finishing.
He's at a good age, should be more mature but I don't want to see a big time charlie who thinks West Ham is all about him and his stats. I want to see a team player enjoying playing and working his hardest for those around him.

COYI - are you prepared to GUARANTEE that Benrahma will be bombed out in the summer. I fancy putting my mortgage on something, so maybe this is it.

Re: Lingard
Come On Benrahma, I still think for some reason that Benny will click a bit like how it was for Tevez. I’m hoping It’ll be the final push to get our highest finish in the Premier League.

Then again I like to see players aspire & prosper rather than take a dim view of them from the start.

Re: Lingard
Another piece of humble pie here please. He really looks the part 4 goals and 2 assists in 6 games are you watching Anderson? But the best thing so far is the goal celebration against the mighty Tottering Hotspuds....quality!

Re: Lingard
Excellent half season? He's played about six games. Excellent quarter of a season more like.

It would be great news if we get him in permanently though, as he is clearly a level above our current forward midfield options. I'm sure Moyes would be looking to bomb ZERO GOALS Benrahma out this summer and sign Lingard permanently with whatever money we can recoup for the fancy dan, show pony, Championship level player.

Re: Lingard
Even if he doesn't sign full time, he's been an inspired loan. A big slice of humble pie for me too.

Re: Lingard
I never imagined it would happen, so a large slice of humble pie if he does sign after having an excellent half season with us.

Re: Lingard
His celebration when he scored the winner against spurs had me thinking: "Hmmmm. That's tribal Hammer, that, he's found a home."

Hope he can stay and put his England career back on line.

Re: Lingard
its a squad game, and he if in form and the manager/coach feels that he is suitable he will make the matchday squad as probably an attacking midfielder
